MicroSIP

Try our new Daktela Software Phone – designed to work specifically with Daktela, it is much easier to set up.

Please note that Daktela does not provide technical support for software phones other than the Daktela Software Phone.

MicroSIP is an open source SIP software phone for Windows that can be used with Daktela.

Download the installation file at http://www.microsip.org/downloads. Open it and follow the installation instructions.

Do not use the Lite or Portable versions of MicroSIP.

When installed, open MicroSIP and set it up for use:

Open the configuration drop down menu and select Add account...

Set up a SIP account:

  1. SIP Server and Domain: enter the hostname of your Daktela instance – usually the same as the address you use to log in to Daktela, e.g. "yourcompany.daktela.com".

  2. User name and Login: enter your SIP device number (see SIP devices to find your number).

  3. Password: enter your SIP device password (see SIP devices to find your password).

  4. Transport: select the transport you have set up in your SIP device on your domain.

  5. Uncheck Publish Presence.

Click Save.

Open the configuration drop down menu and select Settings:

Set up auto answer (so you can control calls directly from Daktela) and turn off call waiting:

  • Auto answer: select SIP Header.

  • Uncheck Call Waiting

Click Save.

MicroSIP is now set up for use. You will see you are online in the bottom left corner and your device number in the bottom right.
