Telephone is a free soft phone for macOS that can be used with our PBX. It is available in the App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/telephone/id406825478?mt=12).
Please note that Daktela does not provide technical support for software phones other than the Daktela Software Phone.
Please note: There is no auto answer option in Telephone. To make or receive a call from Daktela, you will always need to answer it on the soft phone before being connected. We do not recommend Telephone for call center use.
Before use, you will need to set Telephone up to connect with Devices previously created in our PBX. Open Telephone and follow these instructions (if you are running the app for the first time, it will open SIP Account Setup automatically – go directly to step 3):
Go to the Accounts tab at the top of the window and add a new account using the + sign.
Set up a new SIP phone.
Full Name: choose any name
Domain: enter the hostname (or IP address) of your PBX – it is usually the same as the URL of the PBX
User Name: enter your SIP device number (see SIP devices to find your number)
Password: enter your SIP device password (see SIP devices to find your password)
Telephone is now set up for use.
How to Answer a Call
Client starts calling you.
You will receive a notification in Daktela.
Answer the Call in Telephone.
Your Activity in Daktela will open.
Start a call in Daktela.
You will receive a call in Telephone. Accept it.
Daktela will now call the number you have dialled from Daktela.
