Fixed rosters (Full Fill)¶
Full Fill means a person works their own shift every day that shift is valid, whether the needs ask for it or not. It is the simplest way to say "Jana works Mornings, always" - no cycle, no demand calculation.
Their coverage is subtracted from the demand before anything else is planned, so needs-driven shifts are only generated for what the fixed crew does not already cover.
When to use it¶
| The roster is | Use |
|---|---|
| The same shift every day it is valid | Full Fill - this page |
| A repeating cycle: three mornings, two off; one week early, one week late | Rotation patterns |
| Whatever the demand asks for | Neither - plan from Needs |
A person can have both. A rotation pattern wins on the dates its cycle covers; on every other day Full Fill drives the day again.
Set it up¶
1. Give the person their shift¶
Go to People > Employees, open the person and switch to the Shifts tab. Assign the shift template they work.
Warning
Assign exactly one template that is valid on any given day. Full Fill places one shift per person per day, and if two allowed templates are valid on the same day it silently takes one of them. If somebody works a different shift on different days, give each day shape its own template and make sure their weekday masks do not overlap.
2. Turn Full Fill on¶
Two places, most specific first:
| Where | Effect |
|---|---|
| People > Employees > the person > Contracts tab > Full Fill | This person only. Yes, No, or the default to inherit from the contract |
| People > Contracts > the contract > Full Fill | Everybody on that contract |
The individual setting wins. Left on the default, the contract decides.
3. Generate the schedule¶
Run Smart Schedule as usual. Nothing else is needed - Full Fill is applied before the demand is split into shifts.
What the scheduler does¶
- Places the person's shift on every day its template is valid for them - the template's weekday mask and its holiday setting decide that, not the needs.
- Subtracts that coverage from the demand, so needs-driven shifts are generated only for what the fixed crew leaves uncovered.
- Lets a rotation pattern take over on the dates its cycle covers.
Notes¶
- A workplace can mix the two freely: some people on Full Fill, the rest planned from demand.
- Full Fill does not override contract limits, skills or time off. A day the person cannot work is still a day they do not get a shift.
- On-call (emergency) contracts ignore this setting - see Emergency Shifts.
