Other Applications and API

Settings > Integrations > Applications holds WFM's connections to other systems. Google Calendar, Pinya HR and Sloneek HR have their own pages. This page covers the remaining application types - sign-in through Microsoft Active Directory or Azure, e-mail sending through SendGrid, the Neznam absence import and the accounting export mapping - and the WFM API.

Add an application

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Applications.
  2. Click New Application.
  3. Choose the Type and fill in its fields (see the sections below).
  4. Click Save.

Each type can be added once. A type that already exists is not offered again - open it in the list to change it.

Signing in without Daktela

Most employees sign in through Daktela (see Single sign-on). WFM also has its own login page, with E-mail or username, Password and Sign In. How the password is checked depends on the employee's Source (People > Employees):

Source How the employee signs in
WFM With the password stored in WFM.
Active Directory With their Active Directory password, checked against the Microsoft Active Directory application.
Azure Active Directory With the Sign In With Azure button, see Azure Active Directory.

The Reset Password link appears on the login page only when the Send Grid application is configured.

Microsoft Active Directory

Lets employees with the source Active Directory sign in with their directory password, and optionally lets you import employees from the directory.

Field Meaning
Host Address of the directory server.
Authenticate Domain Added after the username when signing in, e.g. @example.com. The employee then types only jnovak.
Set Download Settings Switch on to import employees from the directory. Shows the fields below.
Username / Password The account WFM reads the directory with. The username is entered without the domain.
Download Domain The domain added to that username, e.g. @example.com.
Base Where in the directory to look for users, e.g. CN=Users, DC=example, DC=com.
Filter LDAP filter selecting the users, e.g. (objectClass=user).
Port / TLS Connection port, and whether to use TLS.
Key Map Which directory attribute fills which WFM field - for example Login, Email, Name, Surname, Personal Number, Phone Number. Attribute names are case-sensitive; a nested value is written with dots, and when the attribute holds a list, its first value is used.

The password is stored encrypted, so it cannot be copied out of the form. To change it, enter it again in full.

With download settings saved, People > Employees > Import Employees offers the type Active Directory next to Daktela.

Azure Active Directory

Adds a Sign In With Azure button to the WFM login page. Employees with the source Azure Active Directory sign in with their Microsoft account; WFM finds them by the username or e-mail of that account.

Field Meaning
Client ID The application (client) ID of the app registration in Azure.
Client Secret Its client secret.
Tenant ID Your Azure tenant. Fill it in when your users have multi-factor authentication enabled.

An Azure account with no matching employee - or with an employee of a different source - cannot sign in.

Send Grid

WFM sends its e-mails - request notifications, password resets - through SendGrid. This application holds the SendGrid account and the sender:

Field Meaning
ApiKey SendGrid API key.
Response Email The sender address of WFM e-mails.
Response Name The sender name.

Which e-mails are sent, and their templates, are described in Requests and notifications.

Neznam

Imports employee absences from the Neznam HR system every hour, the same way as Pinya HR and Sloneek HR. Employees are matched by e-mail address.

Field Meaning
Auth URL Neznam sign-in endpoint.
Base URL Neznam API address.
Client ID / Client Secret API credentials.
Employees URI The endpoint listing employees.

Accounting Export Map

The accounting export (Export on the Schedules page, see Working with schedules) produces a payroll spreadsheet with fixed absence columns: Holiday, Sick, Doctor, Donating Blood, Day With The Kids, Maternal Leave, Replacement Leave, Unexcused Absence, Unpaid Leave, Caring For A Family Member, Wedding, Funeral, Obstacles Employer and Paid Leave.

This application says which WFM request type fills which column. For each column, pick the request type. A request type can be assigned to one column only - one already used is not offered for the others.

Without the map, the fixed absence columns are left out of the export. Either way, every request type that occurs in the exported data also gets its own pair of columns - its name (hours) and its number of days.

API

Admins see API at the bottom of the left menu. It opens the WFM API documentation (Swagger) in a new tab. The page is available only to a signed-in admin.
