AI Disclosure (EU AI Act)

Since 2 August 2026, the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) are in effect.

Article 50: if an AI system communicates directly with people, they must be clearly informed that they are talking with artificial intelligence. The regulation is directly applicable across the entire EU and also applies to bots deployed before this date.

In practice, this means one thing: the bot's first message must say it's AI. For a voicebot, as part of the spoken greeting; for a chatbot, in the opening message; for an emailbot, in the automatic reply.

Warning

Violations can be fined up to €15 million, or 3% of global turnover.

Info

The word "AI" or "artificial intelligence" must be stated explicitly. A name alone ("you're talking with Petra") or "automated assistant" is not enough.

How to set it up

Chatbot / voicebot

  1. Open the instance → Dialogs and find the dialog with the opening message. By convention it's often named something like ⭐ Opening dialog, 00. Introduction and flow, or ✅ Call script — the name varies by instance.
  2. Edit the greeting so it explicitly mentions AI — in all language variants.
  3. Test the change before deploying it.

Tip

Not sure which dialog has the opening message? Open any conversation in the Discussions section and click Complete dialog walkthrough in its detail — the button takes you to a diagram of the dialog that shows step by step how the conversation went. The very first step is the dialog with the opening line. More in How to find discussions.

Chat examples:

  • Hello! I'm Petra, [Company]'s AI assistant…
  • Hi, I'm an AI assistant. How can I help you?

Voice example:

  • Hello, you've reached [Company]. I'm Petra, a virtual AI assistant…

Emailbot

Info

Unlike a chatbot or voicebot, an emailbot has no opening message — it generates replies to incoming emails. The AI disclosure therefore belongs in the signature, which is automatically appended to every existing or future emailbot reply.

In the main Daktela CC menu (not the Daktela AI administration), open Manage → Users → List of Users, click the AI Agent user, and edit the Signature field in its detail.

Email example: This reply was prepared by Petra, [Company]'s AI assistant.

Info

A Queue-level signature and the AI Agent user's signature aren't mutually exclusive in Daktela CC — they get merged. If a queue already has a global company signature configured, you don't need to remove it: the AI Agent's signature appears first, with the queue's signature added below it, so the AI disclosure still reaches every emailbot reply from that queue.
