MicroSIP¶
MicroSIP is a free, open-source SIP softphone for Windows. It supports standard SIP accounts and can be used with Daktela to make and receive calls. Download the installation file at http://www.microsip.org/downloads . Open it and follow the installation instructions.
Warning
Do not use the Lite or Portable versions of MicroSIP.
When installed, open MicroSIP and set it up for use: Open the configuration drop down menu and select Add account...
Set up a SIP account:
- SIP Server and Domain : enter the hostname of your Daktela instance – usually the same as the address you use to log in to Daktela, e.g. "yourcompany .http://daktela.com ".
- User name  and Login : enter your SIP device number (see SIP devices to find your number).
- Password : enter your SIP device password (see SIP devices to find your password).
- Transport : select the transport you have set up in your SIP device on your domain.
- Uncheck Publish Presence. Click Save.
Open the configuration drop down menu and select Settings :

Set up auto answer (so you can control calls directly from Daktela) and turn off call waiting:
- Auto answer : select SIP Header.
- UncheckCall Waiting Click Save.
MicroSIP is now set up for use. You will see you are online in the bottom left corner and your device number in the bottom right.
